What is Equine Assisted Learning and why will it help you?
So often, the things we want most to attract in life: money, success, health, love, can seem frustratingly out-of-reach like something is blocking their way. There is. It's you. Yes, our emotional baggage, deep-seated emotional trauma, our self-sabotaging beliefs can prevent us from joyfully living the abundant life we deserve, unless we undertake the work of discovering, then defusing our inner triggers, making changes at the deepest level. Our programs harness the intuitive power horses to effectively break through those blocks, enhancing your business and your life.
Equine Assisted Learning is a results-driven learner based educational non-riding experience with horses. We use the natural senses and instincts of horses, combined with specially developed team exercises that help you to not only uncover what's holding you back but to then breakthrough those blocks and discover skills and ways of communicating and interacting with yourself and others. EAL is the fast track to discovering what is in the way of you moving forward.
Our workshops push you gently out of your comfort zone, accelerating your path to self-discovery. Working through specific, strategic tasks with your horse who has an instinctive need for safety, fair leadership, and clear intention, you will build confidence and self esteem as you subsequently create more effective relationships, improve communication, leadership skills, set boundaries and trust your instincts.
Centaur Wellness utilizes the programs from Equine Connections which emphasizes its Internationally recognized BuildingBlock™ curriculum of facilitating life skills through positively reinforced interaction with horses. Exercises are developed to encourage self confidence through validated hands-on experiences. Current research has found this experiential form of learning to be very effective; often resulting in immediate results.
We use horses because as prey animals they instinctively fear us; they have a primary need for safety and fair leadership; and their sophisticated social hierarchy enables them to enter into relationships with us in complete trust; without judgement or expectation. The horses' ability to tune into our internal energy and our external actions and to respond instantly to our actions and stimulus is very effective in helping us understand those underlying issues and behaviours undermining our relationships and progress.
Horses require leadership and clear answers; are always honest and do not judge. Horses divulge interpersonal dynamics and quickly reveal every persons hidden talents and potential growth points. The changes they will experience are immediate, as horses live in the moment.

"Who would have thought I’d learn teamwork, leadership tips and communication styles
through a horse named Rocky? Well it happened in a session with Dorothy Turek from Centaur
Dorothy is a down to earth, straight up facilitator, who guided us through the theory behind
Equine Assisted Learning. Dorothy then handed the ropes to me and my partner, Darla Zuk.
With Rocky in between us, we learned how to communicate with and through Rocky and
confirmed for ourselves, we are a great team whether we are guiding a horse or collaborating
and building our businesses.
These sessions with Centaur Wellness would be highly beneficial for teams, families and a great
experience for a group of friends.
Thank you for the experience Dorothy."

"I went into the Equine Assisted Learning program with "zero" horse experience. With the guidance and support of skilled facilitators, the horses led me through the learning process. Empowered - confident - aware - communication - courageous - inspired ... are only some of the words to describe this enlightening opportunity!"

"Participating in the Equine Assisted Learning program was beyond amazing! It was life changing. It is difficult to summarize the experience in words - I learnt so much about myself and others!"
