Owner & Facilitator
Horse love and the meaning of life: these twin themes seem to intertwine at various points throughout my story long before I ever thought to become certified as an equine-assisted learning facilitator. I was a very shy girl who found her courage and voice with a small black mare exploring the backwoods of Northern Alberta. Then our teenage daughter experienced bulling on her own sports team that our "Unicorn" Shatir helped her through.
After a long-term career in academic administration and human resources, I was driven to do something more, to make a true difference for those in search of answers to life’s bigger questions and spiritual reconnection within. I had always loved horses, so, listening to my intuition, I followed my higher calling and became certified as a life coach practitioner, riding instructor, and then, finally finding my real passion, a facilitator for equine-assisted learning.
Customized to groups as diverse as sales professionals, first responders, women entrepreneurs, small business teams, right on through to corporate executives, Centaur Wellness offers an array of programs all designed to build valuable skills and increase your self-awareness of the internal triggers blocking you from the success, abundance, and life mastery you deserve. As the owner of Centaur Wellness, I empower individuals and groups alike to fulfill their true potential through the spirit-healing synergy of horse and human.
Co-Facilitator & owner/facilitator with Journey of Dreams
Mel has had a deep, driven, forward moving passion for horses as well as helping people since she was a very young child. She was always found hanging out in the pastures with her aunt and uncles horses. She built her first partnership with her own horse at the young age of 16 with a five year old mare, which carried her through those teenage struggles that everyone goes through. As life progressed for her in a couple of different career directions and starting a family, Mel purchased an unbroke two year old quarter horse. That soon after definitely brought new meaning to true partnership between horse and person. As well as a continuous guide to the dream career that she is so passionate about and proves to be her true purpose on earth. Little did she know at the time how much that horse that she calls Duke was going to be her teacher, healer and strength through some of the hardest battles that life will throw at her. Which led her to the amazing Equine Assisted Learning program through Equine Connection, for the start of her own career of Equine Assisted Learning - Journey of Dreams. Where she can share the gift and teaching moments that horses brought to her life with others for their own life journey.
